RoundTables Consulting recently hosted a one-day Employability Workshop at the Heart of Scotstoun Community Centre, funded by the Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association Community Fund and supported by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Around a dozen job-ready participants from diverse backgrounds came together to tackle the core challenges of CV writing, personal-statement crafting and interview technique. Through a series of practical exercises, peer feedback and expert-led sessions, attendees left with renewed confidence and a clear action plan for their job search.

“This workshop was highly useful – I freeze in job interviews and until now I never knew how to overcome it.”

Participants drilled deep into role-play scenarios designed to desensitise interview nerves and refine their personal pitch. Facilitators emphasised both the substance and the structure of applications:

“Learning that format matters as much—or sometimes even more—than content was an eye-opener.”

Creating a welcoming atmosphere was central to the day’s success. Small-group work and one-to-one coaching allowed individuals to test out different strategies in a supportive setting:

“I felt really welcome and safe in this workshop and could try out different pitches in a friendly, encouraging environment.”

The event also fostered peer networking, as job seekers shared experiences and built relationships for ongoing mutual support:

“It was good to meet other job seekers and share experiences, perspectives, and build relationships for mutual support.”

RoundTables Consulting extends its thanks to Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association and the DWP for their support, and looks forward to partnering with more organisations to empower individuals on their employability journeys.
